Forty-six of Pablo Picasso's elegant etchings from a group known as "The Vollard Suite," are on loan to The Bruce Museum from a private collection and are on view from June 18 to October 16, 2011. These prints were made over the course of a year, from spring 1933 to spring 1934 while Picasso worked in his Normandy studio. Made for the legendary art dealer and publisher Ambroise Vollard, according to The Bruce Museum, "these superb works from the Vollard Suite demonstrate Picasso's ability to please and astonish with equal intensity."
