For those of you who haven't noticed, I have added both a Fairfield County Map and a Westchester County Map on my website about Greenwich CT Real Estate. I think that it is very important for those that are interested in Greenwich CT Real Estate to understand why this town is in such a great location in relation to the rest of Fairfield County as well as Westchester County.
Positioned as the first town entering Connecticut along the Metro North Train leaving New York, Greenwich takes advantage of Connecticut's much lower taxes while being the closest town to New York City. Having commuted into the city for years, I'm well aware of the intricacies of each train station along the Metro North line. There are plusses and minuses to all Greenwich train stations (Greenwich, Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich) as well as our two neighboring train stations, Port Chester and Stamford.
Many Greenwich residents living on the west side of town (Byram, Pemberwick and Glenville for example) actually use the Port Chester, NY train to get into the city. This station is apx 3 minutes closer to Grand Central, but also provides great parking and easy access if you happen to be living on the western boarder. On the opposite side of town, many residents on the eastern part of Greenwich (North Mianus and Old Greenwich, for example) take the Stamford train to get into and out of New York City. This train isn't much quicker, but provides express service on a much more regular basis and into the late hours of the night.
